My Special Person

I’d like to pay tribute to my mother. First and foremost, I’d like to thank you for being such an incredible role model in my life. I can always rely on you to be there for me through the ups and downs, none of it would be possible without you. Words cannot express my endless love for you. With each passing day, I am extremely grateful to call you my mother. You are always there to comfort me and support the decisions I make in the face of obstacles. You have had a tremendous impact on my life, and I am forever grateful. I will always remember the times we had “girl talks” and, most importantly, the quality time we spent together. My admiration for you continues to grow with each passing day, and the sacrifices you continue to make for my sister and I have not gone unnoticed.

You have instilled in me many qualities that I hope to follow and eventually pass down. Mom, you are the most thoughtful and caring person I have ever met. You have always been there for me at my best and worst times in life.  I owe my passion for loving others to you because growing up I have watched you continue to give back to others and support people at their lowest even when they didn’t deserve it. I admire you for being so obstinate and never giving up when faced with a challenge. You are by far the most powerful woman I have ever met. You inspire me to be the best version of myself by demonstrating that there is always another positive way to solve a problem that does not harm others. I know losing your mother at such a young age was difficult for you, but I really appreciate how hard you worked for my younger sister and I, to ensure that we had the opportunity to experience things you never had.

And I can honestly say that you are my biggest cheerleader; you constantly encourage me to do my best and strive for excellence. I owe all of my accomplishments to you; without your motivational words every morning, I would have given up. You are truly one-of-a-kind, and I would not trade you for anything. You have given me life, nurtured me, taught me, dressed me, fought for me and till this day, you continue to stand in my corner. Despite our differences, you always have my best interest at heart. I recall instances when I was so stressed from long hours of homework, but you were always there to remind me that “I can do this” and that all my hard work would pay off in the end. I’ll never forget how excited you were for me when I first got accepted into my high school, possibly even more than I was. You were beaming, and knowing that I’d made you proud is one of my biggest accomplishments. There aren’t enough words on the planet to express how much I Love you. You are my special person. Thank you everyone for coming out to this awards banquet to help celebrate my mom.
