Why am I so angry?
I am angry because more games are becoming pay-to-win, which makes it harder for players who take the time to practice and get better at the game.
It makes it harder for most people who are not that good at the game and most of the time it makes it harder for the people just starting the game.I get angry when games are pay-to-win. Players who spend money get better items, stronger characters, and level up faster.
This makes the game unfair. People who cannot spend money have a harder time winning. It also makes the game less fun because skill does not matter as much as money. One reason I do not like pay-to-win games is because they make practice feel less needed. Many people who play games spend hours learning how to play, improving their skills, and working to become better.
It feels unfair when another player can simply buy better items and make it easier for them. A game should reward players for their effort, not for how much money they have. When money becomes more important than skill, the game is no longer as enjoyable.
Alongside games that are pay to win having constant updates that would change the mechanics of the game making it hard for new players to get time to practice and get better at the game, for example in Call Of Duty there are many different ways for people to get better at the game faster than the people who take the time to get better at the game, a time was when I was on Call Of Duty and this was my fifth time playing and I was slowly getting better in the ways that I was playing.
But then slowly I started to lose more and more games over time due to the constant players that kept killing me due to me not wanting to spend my money on a game I rarely play, which really makes no sense spending money on a game when they are just going to make a new one.
Pay-to-win games can make players who cannot afford to spend money feel left out. Not everyone has extra money to buy in-game items or upgrades, which can make the game seem unfair and less enjoyable. Some kids, teenagers, and adults feel as if spending hundreds of dollars on a game is the only way for them to be able to gain levels or to get better at the game as well as them being able to do things that players who take the time to play the game actually do such as early access to some somethings that most players who don’t play to win get.
Many players stop playing games because they think they are unfair. Players have stated that fairness is one of the biggest reasons people keep playing or quit a game. When players believe they cannot win without paying, they often lose interest.
If game companies focus on skill instead of money, more people will enjoy playing, and the gaming community will become stronger. I believe games should be about having fun together, not about who can spend the most money.
In the end, I am angry about pay-to-win games because they take away equalness. Constant updates can also make games enraging by changing the way the games are played too often. Games are supposed to be fun, challenging, and fair for everyone.
