Why I run—and why you should too!

I discovered my passion for the 400m when I wasn’t that fast in the 200m. So when my mom saw I wasn’t that interested anymore she introduced me to the 400m. At first I did not like the sound of sprinting the entire track. I practiced long and hard, but it was finally time to run it. I ran the 400m and hated it and I wanted to quit, but my mom and coach didn’t let me. I continued to progress in practice and my time went down by a lot. Soon I started to win medals and ribbons for the 400m.

If you’re interested in track but you don’t do well in short sprints then you should really give the 400m a try. I say this because if you’re not that fast in the short sprints but you don’t want to run long distance, well then the 400m was made for you. Even though the 400m is probably the hardest race in track and field doesn’t mean you can’t do it! You may not know it yet but the 400m could be YOUR passion.
