We Are People

Discrimination is a very pig problem throughout the world.

It cooled off a bit but there is still a bit more racism going on. Discrimination is the unjust or prejudicial treatment of different categories of people, especially on the grounds of ethnicity, age, sex, or disability and religion.  Discrimination is caused from people who think they’re different and lower from them and can cause sexism. It is also caused if someone dislikes their skin color or identity, identity meaning how they look, their traits, and what they like/believe in.

Discrimination was a big problem in the 18th century, women were seen as “less than men” meaning men were superior than women and i think thats not true because women literally did most of the house cleaning and cooking There was also discrimination in the 19 century too social tensions were defined in terms of, rich vs poor, native-born vs immigrant and woker vs capatlist. The 19th century was really based of racial discrimination meaning people were treated certain ways based of their race/skin color and caused a lot of problems throughout the world.

In my opinion, discrimination is stupid. You shouldn’t dislike people just because of their looks, or sexuality, and beliefs. For example, someone doesn’t believe in God, but another person does. You dislike that person because they don’t believe in God so you don’t treat them fairly, start calling them names and try to force them to believe in God. You should just respect their decision, it is not your problem if they don’t believe in God, and anyways, God says not to cause judgment on others.

Now if the roles were reversed, because the person believed in God, they received hate from the other person because they didn’t have religious beliefs.  You don’t have to hate on others because of what they think is true, it has nothing to do with you and it’s their belief. If you just don’t like them because of what they believe in, just dont talk to them, you shouldn’t think you have the upper hand to shade them out. You should  just respect their decision.

If someone has a community that has certain beliefs and things in common, respect it and move on, cause if somebody made fun of you it would be a problem, so don’t do it to others.

Although Discrimination has been around for a long time, we can still stand up and help others. If you see somebody getting racially insulted or judged, help them. Usually helping others makes the person getting helped feel better, appreciated, and have a better day, But it can also help you and make you feel better because you just helped someone.

If you’’re dealing with discrimination or discriminating others, heres some tips that can help

  • Engage in pleasurable activities. People often tend to feel better when they are doing something they love or enjoy.
  • Recognise an individual as a person of worth. Not judge or stereotype an individual.
  • Take good care of yourself
  • And help others/ yourself

I chose to write about this topic because I think everyone should be treated fairly and respect everyone’s opinion because everyone’s opinion is important. This might not cause a big change but if you see something that is not right, step up.
