Soccer to me is one of the greatest things in my life.
I started to play soccer when I was around 11 years old. I used to be into football but I lost interest in it. That’s when I started hanging around my step brother and he introduced me to his friends and I would see them play soccer a lot. I started to feel really interested in soccer and how to play but I felt I wasn’t ready.
I kept watching how my step brother and his friends played and saw that it took time and hard work, especially commitment.
I started to communicate with the friends of my step brother who are now my friends and I told them about my interest in soccer and they told me that I should practice and they could lead me through it.
I knew that it took practice to get better but I never expected how much time and effort I would have to put into it.
I trained and trained, once I even trained in the snow which was fun I did end up getting sick though which wasn’t fun but I was committed to getting good at soccer.
It took me time but I did eventually get good and I joined a soccer team.
I even went to try-out for a professional soccer academy and I got accepted but it was just something my parents could afford.
But that shows how my hard work paid off and all of my commitment to soccer did end up being worth it.
All of the things that happened to me can happen to you just need commitment.
People think that soccer is just kicking a ball around even though that might be the case soccer involves more than that.
In soccer you need skill. You need to work in dribbling the ball and know how to be fast with your legs.
You also need to have an aim and know which direction you want the ball to go because if you kick the ball and you don’t think about where you want it to go it’s just going to go flying with no direction.
Soccer’s a fun sport not to many people but to me and a whole bunch of other people, soccer is their favorite sport. I hope you give it a shot and see if you like it. Find other people who like soccer, hang around them, see how they play and ask them to teach you and make sure they are always with you throughout your soccer journey.
