If you’re a Gamer like me you’ve got to try The First Descendant, a cross-platform third-person shooter game with an open world map to explore and play on with your friends from around the world. When I first opened up The First Descendant remembering that it was a free-to-play game I was amazed by the Graphics of the game and the Story because this type of work usually wouldn’t be free to play and would cost money.
One of the key things I love about The First Descendant is that It doesn’t force you to start off as one player, it gives you three options on what you prefer to play as. An Aggressive Player (The attack type that takes charge of the battle), A Defensive Player (To help protect yourself, the goal, and the team members), or A Stun Player (Someone to keep enemies at a distance so they can’t get too close and attack) all with their own unique abilities that you can unlock and upgrade. The enemies drop loot such as health, shield, MP which you can think of as ability points, weapons, coins, and upgrade items.
When I played the game I felt thrilled each time I would start a mission with a multitude of enemies jumping at me and attacking me. For example, Some enemies are tanks(big enemies that can take and do a lot of damage), some are speedy, and some have magical abilities, for example freezing and burning.
I also loved the fact that you didn’t need to buy an online subscription just to play online in this game because usually when you’re trying to play a game online on console you would need to buy Ultimate on Xbox or PlayStation Plus for PlayStation. When you load into the lobby you see hundreds of players walking about with their microphones on some without one, you can team up with anyone and they can join you mid-mission to help you complete it when you feel like things are getting out of hand. There are also supply crates around the map for when you feel like you’re in a sticky situation.
For all the time I’ve played this game it’s been full of fun and has a great community. When playing I feel as if I can move freely with the mechanics and movement in the game which I can also accelerate by using the grappling hook. I also love the perks that I can add to my weapons and my regular punching/M1s, how good the perk is based on the weapon and rarity allowing you to become a heavy hitter when playing the game. Another fact I love about the game is being able to have a special weapon to switch to when you run out of ammo.
I can understand if this is not your type of game for people who don’t like shooting or violence games but I do encourage you to try even if it’s just for the story. I promise that it’ll blow your expectations out of the water. In all The First Descendant is an enjoyable open-world third-person shooter in which I hope you enjoy it as well as I did.
