Have you noticed how bad climate change has been in our world? Have you seen animal populations go down, if you haven’t then this article will help you find out how bad climate change is. With climate change it’s a long-term warming for our world but none of us has done anything. From the animal population and human population, animals have gone down to 69% overall in the last half-century. Also with a larger human population, this has impacted supplies of freshwater and food. Our health has been affected with the changes of weather and water level rising that have an impact on lives and communities. Then the high temperatures killed over 100,000 people in 2018. There have been over thousands of wildlife from across the world that have been found on our Earth, which brings the animal and human population down. If you think these are all examples then you are wrong. We have limited time to fix this problem, but what have you done for our earth?
Now how could we help our Earth? How could we even stop climate change little by little? Is there even a point? Yes, every step counts because there are billions of people on this earth. We all should reduce the water waste because we could save the water from carbon pollution. We can save some water when we don’t need to, like in the middle of brushing your teeth, shaving or getting a shower head that saves water. Without clean water there is no life on earth. Also we can recycle, from the United States we have 4.5 pounds of garbage every day and which all goes to landfills, but if we start to recycle that could help us with saving energy, having healthier plants for us and for the future from recycling and helping the sewage water reduce to a greenhouse. Also, according to the North Carolina environment quality , “more recycling 15,700 people from North Carolina will be employed,” from that, we can start doing that at home to get all these benefits in jobs. Now we have talked about recycling, let me talk to you about food waste. Have you ever wondered how much food has gone to the trash? You might think that’s nothing but you need to realize that 2.5 billion tons of food becomes garbage. According to Recycle Track Systems “ 11 percent of the world’s emissions — like methane, carbon dioxide and chlorofluorocarbons, which contribute to global warming. Food that sits decaying in landfills also produces nitrogen pollution, which causes algae blooms and dead zones. According to the World Wildlife Federation, the production of wasted food in the United States is equivalent to the greenhouse emissions of 37 million cars.” These facts are interesting because the food wasted hurts our planet. I did not know about emissions, but emissions are smoke coming out of cars or factories for example. These emissions like methane, chlorofluorocarbons, and carbon dioxide are bad for our health and environment. These emissions are 11 percent of our climate change. When you waste your food you are actually fed by climate change. Some tips to reduce food waste can be easy, one example is my grandma and aunt. They do compost every week. It might smell really bad but you are saving the world. I learned by composting that food waste becomes dirt. You can learn a thing or two about composting at plant Chicago located at the back of yards.
In conclusion, these facts show how bad climate change is for real, but these facts aren’t new. These problems are the result of all of us not ‘respecting’ Earth. Earth is going to be here but not us if we don’t change the climate change.
