Finding your lane: everyone should try track

My passion is track. I discovered track by my friend Langston inviting me to a practice. Ever since she invited me to a track practice, I started to do track more. I started doing track in 2022, which means I’ve been doing track for 3 years now. I love doing track because it’s calming, it helps relieve stress, it gets my mind off of things like homework, and it makes me calmer. I also enjoy doing track because I make a lot of new friends and meet new people, and also get to be with my friends more. Another reason I love track is because I’m really fast and I’m good at it, and I enjoy doing track for fun in my free time.

A type of person I would recommend to do track is someone who likes swimming. I would recommend this because swimming helps with building your muscles stronger and makes you fast. I know this because I did swimming since I was 6 or 7 months old, until I was 7 years old, when COVID started. I realized that all of these years of swimming made me fast.

Some main benefits that someone would get from doing track is being humble, adaptable, and to not give up. I think this because you have to be humble and have good sportsmanship when you lose or win. You have to be adaptable when things don’t go your way or when things are taking too long to start, and if you don’t place as well as you wanted to. You also have to not give up when the race didn’t go as well as you wanted it and you have to train harder and better if you want to get better.

I really recommend you to try track because ever since I started doing track and when I first got invited to a track practice, and even my first meet, I never stopped doing track. At my first ever meet, I got 3 silver medals from the 100m, 200m, and 4×4 relay. Track is a super fun sport to try even in your free time. Just try something new and you may like it because that’s how I got into track. If you need any tips or help with track or if you try it, let me know.
