The Passion of Baseball

I’m passionate about baseball because I’ve been playing baseball since I was a little boy. But my dream for baseball is to make it to the MLB. When I play I feel that all my emotions disappear. Playing baseball got me most of my friends that I still know now, since I started playing baseball when I was 4 years old. One of my favorite memories is when me and my friends were on the opposite team and we had to play against each other in the championship game and my team ended up losing the championship while my friend’s’ team won.The thing that makes baseball different from the other sports that I’ve played is it is competitive. Baseball is also the hardest sport that you could play. The benefits that baseball gave me is it made me tougher and not doubt myself during tough times. My life changed when I joined a travel baseball team because it is such an amazing experience to travel the world while playing the sport you love. But at the same time you have to make sacrifices to play on a travel team. You might miss a few birthdays or some family events but it is worth it in the future. The things that make baseball stand out the most is the way it’s played by hitting a ball that goes over 100 miles an hour with a bat while trying to hit the ball over 400 feet. That’s one of the most difficult things to do in sports, but to catch a ball that’s going over 100 miles an hour is a different problem you have to face while playing baseball.

Baseball is played between two teams of nine players. The game consists of nine innings, with teams alternating between offense (batting) and defense (fielding). The batting team tries to score runs by hitting a pitched ball and running across four bases: ,first, second, third, and home. The way the field is shaped is like a diamond. A batter gets up to three strikes before being called out, or four balls to walk to first base. The pitcher throws from a mound toward home plate, aiming to get the batter out. Fielders try to catch the ball or tag runners to prevent scoring. Each inning has two halves: the visiting team bats first, followed by the home team. Three outs end each half-inning. A run is scored when a player safely rounds all bases and touches home plate. Players can get out by strikeout, flyout, groundout, or tag. A home run occurs when the ball is hit out of play in fair territory—allowing the batter and any runners to score. Umpires officiate the game, calling balls, strikes, and safe or out decisions. The team with the most runs after nine innings wins. If tied, extra innings are played until one team leads at the end of an inning. That is why you should play baseball and that’s how it’s played.
