Donald Trump’s administration is actively contributing to the deterioration of America’s liberty and democracy. Trump might claim he is actively contributing to the restoration of regulations to the United States of America while audaciously infringing regulations, impeding the Constitution, and all for which America stands.
One way he is doing this is by implementing his “Big Beautiful Bill,” which affects aid programs that help low-income Americans. On the other hand, the wealthy will get most of the benefits from these tax cuts. These tax cuts include repealing the net investment income tax, which means that high-income earners would no longer pay the 3.8% tax on investment income. Also, reducing the Corporate tax rate, which means that they would be lowering the rate from the previously reduced rate of 21% to 28% benefiting large corporations. They plan to change the income tax brackets. The plan consists of a two-bracket system of 15% and 30%, which suggests that the tax burden would shift from high-income earners to the middle class.
Trump’s economic agenda is to root out waste and fraud, which will protect the programs for those who need them.
Project 2025 is against rights like abortion or reproductive, LGBTQ, immigrants, and cultural harmony. Project 2025’s largest publication, is 900-pages which explain the plan to reshape the entire federal government bureau by bureau to adhere to the conservative agenda.
Project 2025 includes a list of unbalanced recommendations for policies that affect nearly every aspect of American life. Trump’s administration is destroying America’s democracy by implementing things like Project 2025 or his “Big Beautiful Bill”. Project 2025 is taking away essential rights, like those of immigrants or individuals who identify as LGBTQ.
This plan is reforming the federal government to serve the conservative party’s agenda. The Republican Party emphasizes conservatism, limited government intervention, and individual liberties. Two key beliefs and principles commonly associated with the Republican Party include economic policies and social policies. One economic policy they believe in is limited government regulation, which could lead to decreased consumer and environmental protections, which could potentially exacerbate income inequality. Another one is reducing government spending, which would defund programs like SNAP and Medicaid, which are necessary for many Americans.
One social policy they promote is gun rights; their party opposes stricter gun control, which could lead to more lives being lost due to gun violence. According to the CDC, in 2023, 46,728 people died due to gun-related injuries. If we do not implement stricter policies, the number will continue to climb higher and higher as the years progress.
They are also “pro-life,” which means they advocate for restrictions on abortion access. It could also likely lead to the exacerbation of existing health and economic disparities and negatively impact women’s overall well-being and economic stability. This would also likely increase the number of unsafe abortions, which would lead to an increased maternal and infant mortality rate.
If it serves the Conservative Party, what about those of the Democratic Party and their agenda?
You may deem yourself a conservative or more commonly known as a Republican, but are you? Maybe you presume that all of Trump’s actions are reasonable when seen on paper, but what would you think once the result of his actions begins to reflect upon you?
A good solution to this issue is to revise this “Big Beautiful Bill” so that it benefits all Americans, no matter how much income they make or what tax bracket they fall into. A good solution to the issue of Project 2025 is to also revise the so that it doesn’t take away rights that are necessary to the groups of people it applies to.
