Anime’s Big Three

Anime is what you need. Unlike some shows, anime has a bit of everything. There is always something to keep you engaged.

Anime originated in Japan, which is why most anime are set there. There are many different types of anime which you can watch, like action, romance, slice of life, comedy, and adventure. Something important to remember is that anime is not just a cartoon. The graphics are more detailed, and the core values in each anime are key to the intricate plot. There are life lessons in each one. They are shown through the plot and characters. The characters are another important part of anime. The diversity of their personalities really is intriguing, and overall entertaining. Sometimes, characters show traits that relate to you, or someone you may know. They keep the show interesting, and are an important part of the action.

Although there are many different anime, there are three that stand out the most. They are Naruto, Dragon Ball Z, and One piece. I consider them the Big Three of anime. They each have their own characters and plot. They are probably the most popular anime to exist yet. They also have their own themes. Naruto has many themes, such as hard work, perseverance and determination, and following your dreams. Naruto Uzumaki is a young boy who aims to be Hokage, the leader of his village. Because his parents died, he grew up alone with kids bullying him. Even the adults did not like him. That did not stop him. He continued to work toward his goal, completing challenges along the way. He lost people important to him, but that still didn’t deter him. He fought hard battles, and eventually achieved his dream of becoming Hokage. Naruto is an inspiration, because he’s a jovial character, with a dream he never wavers from. Then there is Dragon Ball Z, the continuing series of Dragon Ball. It is centered around the character Son Goku, in his adult life. He is of a race that has been wiped out save for him and a few people. He strives to get stronger and protect earth from villains. He is a humble and kind guy, always putting his friends’ and family’s safety before his own. What I like about Dragon Ball Z is how relatable the characters are. Like me, they share a pursuit of personal self-growth. Another major element in Dragon Ball Z is the theme of good versus evil. That is shown through almost every fight in the show. The humor and enthralling plot just add to the experience.

The last anime, which is my personal favorite, is One Piece. One piece is actually still ongoing, with over a thousand episodes. It is about a young boy named Monkey D. Luffy who is set on becoming the Pirate King. He is doubted at first, but proves himself. He forms a crew, inviting people along the way of his journey. He cares about his crew just like he would if they were family. One of my favorite parts is the humor. Luffy’s antics and love of food always make me smile. You could say that One Piece has the message of companionship and freedom. Luffy likes being a pirate, partly because he feels free. He has an effect of making the people around him smile.

Overall, there are still many reasons for you to watch anime. If you’re looking for something meaningful, humorous, or action-packed, anime will have it.
