Touchdown Talk

I remember the wet grass smell, my cleats digging in the turf. Sweat dripped from my head while wearing that helmet while number 25 was in his stance across from me, and I had to stop him or the game was over. “HIKE”, that’s my cue. I block him and my quarterback throws the ball and we win.

I started playing football in August 2024 and ever since then I wanted to make this my career. Football also has a lot of benefits, a great way to improve concentration. You also learn time management. You have 24 seconds to hike the ball, score, go for the extra point and you have 4 tries. It also builds strength and endurance and it builds up your coordination.

Now it’s time to tell you why I’m passionate about football. I’m passionate about football because while I’m playing I feel a spark. It’s like something in me just turns on and I’m having the best time of my life. I don’t know what’s wrong with me but I love football for the physicality, the plays, the speed. I really think I’m gonna make it to the NFL but to do that I work hard, workout, build my body to get stronger.

I started playing football last year and I fell in love instantly. When I got on that field my life changed. Physically and Mentally. I wanna thank my coaches and my mom, Coach Byron, Coach Ralph. They pushed me to be better everyday, to be stronger. They are a big part why I want to make football my legacy.

I also want to thank my teammate Ashton. He’s younger than me but he showed me how to block and kickstep well. Thank you guys and you will be hearing my name in the NFL Draft. Enough about me, here are some tips and advice if you’re thinking about playing football. If you are a small guy, USE YOUR SPEED. Using your speed will get you out of many situations, especially in football.

You do not get away all the time, you have to learn how to take a bump, or how to juke. Football is a physical sport and it’s not for everyone, you have to have will, wit, and be mentally strong.

“The difference between a successful person and others is not a lack of strength, not a lack of knowledge, but rather a lack of will.”- Vince Lombardi.
