My life was changed when I was introduced to these two amazing sports. Or in my eyes these are the two amazing sports. Those two sports are volleyball and (softball). I love these two sports because they are the two sports I can go to so I can calm down and get distracted from everything that is happening. Volleyball and softball have shown me true and forever friendships. I can always trust my friends and coaches from these sports because they have been there for me for a long time. Even if sometimes I don’t perform the best in these sports my teammates and coaches always find a way to put a smile on my face.
I remember there was this one time I was out with a group of my softball friends and it was after one of our games. We all went to McDonalds because we were all hungry and the parents were all hanging out talking about the game. There were about 5-6 people in the group so all our parents agreed on letting us walk there. When we got to McDonalds we all ordered our food and sat down waiting. While we were waiting which felt like forever my friend’s brother was making up jokes and we were all dying of laughter. When we got our food we ate and talked which felt like forever because we were having so much fun and making so many memories. We talked and laughed, making long lasting memories. When we all finished we went to go get our parents food because they were hungry as well but not from McDonalds from another place right next to McDonalds so we all walked there and one of my friends ran into the door which then led everyone in the group to start dying of laughter because it was really funny. We had ordered their food and decided to go outside and wait at the tables out there because it was a nice night. Again laughter and jokes were made while we waited. Another one of my friends accidentally threw her shoe in the garbage trying to hit another one of my friend. This season was just filled with laughter, jokes, memories, and friends. No matter if we won, lost, or even tied we didn’t care because all we cared about was each other and memories to last a lifetime.
How did you get into the sport you may ask? Now that is a very good question. I started playing volleyball when I was in 5th grade and played for school. But once I got into 7th grade I thought it would be a good idea just to try out for a club team and see how it goes just for fun. I was very nervous trying out but the worst thing that could happen is I didn’t make the team. I tried out and you wouldn’t know if you made it or not right away you would have to wait for a couple days. It was killing me not knowing if I had got onto the team. I was so nervous thinking I wouldn’t make the team. I went to a party 2 days after and well I was at the party my mom called me over to her and gave me her phone and it was an acceptance letter to play club. I was so happy to be a part of the team. Now I still play for the same team and I will be playing next season with them.
Now how have you gotten into softball you may ask. That is another very good question that I can answer. How I got into softball is when I was very little I played baseball because I had no idea softball was a sport but I have heard of baseball. When I was about 5-6 I wanted to try baseball so a park near by my house had a little league baseball team and there were no try outs because little kids like us didn’t need try outs we just made the team. I played baseball for awhile but once we got older less and less girls had played baseball and played softball. I stopped playing baseball when I was 11 because I was the only girl on the baseball team and I just didn’t like it anymore. So there was another park near my house that had softball for the summer so a house team. I decided since I had played baseball it should be pretty similar so I played house for the summer last year. There was a team we played and the coach on the other team was a travel coach and asked me to try out for their travel team in a couple weeks. So I tried out and I made the team. I was so happy to be on another travel team. And that is how I had gotten into softball and volleyball and I made all these long lasting friends.
