Hello, my name is Daishaun Hubbard-Washington Jr. I enjoy participating in Track & Field as a sport, and I’d like to explain why. Growing up, I was always drawn to speed-based characters like Kabal, The Reverse Flash, and others. I was also a huge fan of cars, especially supercars like the Devel Sixteen McClaren Senna, and the Lamborghini Centenario. Additionally I enjoyed racing games such as The Crew 2 and Forza Horizon. On top of that I love fast-paced video games like Ultrakill,Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance, and Super Smash Bros for 3DS and Wii U.A reason I was such a fan of motion and speed was because I was part science lover also when I was little. To top it all off I’ve always enjoyed running and participating in sports, which is what ultimately led me to Track & Field. But first what is Track&Field .Track refers to the running events in the sport; those are distance races, sprints, hurdles, and relays. Field refers to what happens in the field; these include shot put, high jump, long jump, and polevaulting. The reason I distinguish between track and field is that they involve different activities and skillsets, as I’ve described above.
Let’s start with the mental benefits of Track & Field. First, it helps you build mental endurance and shows you that many obstacles are more about mental barriers than physical difficulty. For example, after finishing a tough task, do you ever say, “I’m glad it’s over” or “That’s it?” Let’s put this in track terms: when you step onto a track and look at 100m or 200m and say “This is long”. But, once you run it the best you can, I assure you it’s not that bad. It’s just your mind, not your body, that holds you back. The same goes for the high jump. It might seem high at first, but if you focus, use the right technique and give it a good try.
Now let’s talk about the physical benefits of Track & Field and why you should do it. Running activates muscles like your hip flexors, abs, and more. Consistently working these muscles through running helps you get faster and stronger in time. That’s why practice is so important. Practice always helps you improve, even when it doesn’t seem like it right away. Running can also lift your mood no matter the distance. Whenever you get faster, you gain an ability that can help in all kinds of situations: racing friends, playing games like capture the flag, and more. As for field events like jumping, those events work your glutes, thighs, hamstrings, and calves. You’re putting force into the ground like a spring. The best part about training these abilities is that they translate into everyday life, like reaching for things on a high shelf without needing a stepstool.
In conclusion, you should consider doing Track & Field because it sharpens your physical and mental abilities, and the skills you develop can benefit you in everyday life. That’s all I have to say, have a great day!
