Raise your glasses to the best dad. Take a second to recognize your parents. Not many people can do what you’re doing right now. Be thankful for your parents. You all have amazing fathers although mine are the greatest. I wouldn’t be here without him.
People overlook how much your fathers do for you. I heard a saying once and it has stuck with me for so long. It goes: your father is truly the only person who wants you to become a better man than he is.
If I were to talk about all the things my father has done for me, it would make me write all day. I remember when I was younger, my father lost someone and he was planning to go visit them since they lived far away. The only problem was the younger me and my dad had planned to watch this movie for quite some time. The younger me didn’t understand why my dad wanted to go. Although, my father saw how much it meant to me for him to go. Those kinds of things are something we often overlook.
Be thankful for what you have, a lot of people don’t get the opportunity to have that person. And that person helps you grow. I wouldn’t nearly be the same person without my father. That’s how much he is an influence in my life. My father almost shares the same birthday as me although it’s off by 1 day. He always puts me first. That tells you a lot about his character even if this party is all done by him.
My dad didn’t have the same type of dad that he is for me. He had to figure out everything by himself. He had to get a job early to help with bills and get his own things. He didn’t have someone to take him to the park. He didn’t have someone to take him to the movies. What I am trying to say is that he is everything he didn’t have. He learned what I was doing and the way my school does it and taught me how to do it. And I can admit he wasn’t always the best with trying to help me, but it is the thoughts that counts.
What makes this special to me is that he put in effort which is a trait that he excels in. No matter what he does, where he does it, or even who he does it with, he always shows effort. He always has been teaching me to learn from my mistakes and not procrastinate on things. I try to be as good of a kid as he is of a father, but those are huge shoes to fill and hopefully I am filling those shoes . So to wrap things up, I want to thank the best dad and even the best person: my father.
