Welcome to Mimi’s eighth grade graduation party! For those who don’t know me, I am Mimi’s proud older sister, Maddy. I am so glad you all came to celebrate my amazing younger sister.
First and foremost, Mimi is such an astonishing girl. She puts so much effort into everything she does. She is very kind, caring, mindful, and strong. Furthermore, she is my biggest motivation in life, despite the fact that she is three years younger than me.
In your lifetime, there will come a time when you meet a truly significant person. However, you don’t always get a built-in best friend who shares a room with you. Mimi is always there for me when no one else is. She’s been there for me through my good days and bad days, and I’ve always been there for hers. Even when things weren’t easy for you, you kept going. Your perseverance has made me truly admire all of your hard work.
It’s hard to believe that Mimi is graduating from eighth grade. It feels like just yesterday we were seven and ten years old. Watching my baby sister grow into the person she is today has been one of my greatest joys. I will forever cherish those midnight conversations when we would talk each other’s ears off, whether we were talking about how our days went or laughing at things we found hilarious. I treasure all of our memories together.
Middle school isn’t always easy, but you made it through with so much courage and heart I’m sure high school will be a breeze for you. You’ve improved so much academically, mentally, and physically. You have developed skills that took me a while to improve, such as being responsible, caring about others, and becoming more organized. You’ve made so many friends and become more confident in yourself. That’s something worth celebrating.
As you head into high school, I hope you remember that you’ll be just fine and that there’s no need to be scared or worried. Just be yourself. Keep working hard, stay diligent, remain true to yourself, and never let anyone make you believe you’re not enough. You are capable of achieving incredible things, and I am a true witness to your amazingness.
No matter how old we get or where life takes us, I’ll always be here for you, just as you have always been here for me. I’ll be here to cheer you on, support you, and remind you of how remarkable you are. I’ll forever stand by your side, whether I’m laughing at you or laughing at you.
I never really believed in soulmates, but now I’ve had a change of heart. You’ve made me realize that soulmates don’t have to be romantic partners. A soulmate can be someone who heals your soul, and I am glad to say that you are mine.
You’re going to be my soulmate throughout this journey as well. Congratulations on your eighth grade graduation! You have come so far. From the little girl who used to ask me for homework help to the miraculous eighth grade graduate! I can’t wait to see all the incredible things your future holds. I love you so much.
