There’s always been a lack of political open-mindedness in this country, whether it was in relation to racism or stances on wars, people often stick with the political crowd they grew up with. This has arguably never been as painstakingly clear as the MAGA movement. A movement spearheaded by our current President Donald J. Trump. He is clearly and openly a man with some of the worst character on this earth. And yet, there is still a large portion of people in America who wholeheartedly support him. I said before this is mainly due to political conditioning done in adolescence, but I digress. Today, I plan to break through some of that conditioning by at least showing why you shouldn’t support Trump. I’ll split this into three easy to digest sections: two on Trump the President and one on Trump the person. So let’s start with the type of president he is.
On the presidential front, he’s failed in so many different ways. On an economic front, he’s only made things worse. As a result of him politically moving throughout the world like a bull, he’s destroyed important relationships with multiple allies. This impacts economics because this pushes us into trade wars that increase tariffs, upping the costs of multiple goods on a high level. A specific case is when we imposed tariffs on Canada by 50%, triggering foreign retaliation with a longtime economic partner leading to an increase to market instability. We’re actually in a documented all time high trade deficit in America, making us weak in one of the biggest economic ecosystems. The lost money from all the tariffs now imposed on us as a result of Trump’s actions has also led to millions of jobs being erased because companies simply can’t afford the extra people. But as if Trump didn’t already shock the amount of money available to the American people, he also abandoned renewable energy subsidies leading to household electricity costs rising by 6.7%, and for families barely making it already that’s deadly. Grocery inflation is at 20%+, making having something to eat more of a struggle than it was before.
Don’t worry though, because he’s just as bad when it comes to how he treats minorities in this country. He has intentionally been reversing the gains made during the civil rights movement, and I’ll show you now. He rescinded federal orders monitoring contractor discrimination and scaled back demographic data collection used to track civil rights enforcement, basically allowing discrimination to go on unsupervised. He also ended Obama-era guidance regarding race involvement in admissions and school discipline disparities, taking away from institutional accountability. Lastly, and arguably most devastatingly, he stripped diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives across federal agencies, contractors, and publicly funded institutions. He literally signed executive orders to take out basically all DEI and DEIA (Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Accessibility) offices and roles across federal agencies, the Armed Services, and the Foreign Service. Furthermore, federal workers in DEI roles were placed on leave and targeted for dismissal. But hold on he’s a president of equal opportunity for racism, so he of course attacked immigrants (and latinos as a whole) as well. He first off essentially put a hit on any and every undocumented immigrant, putting anyone who even looked like an immigrant (latinos) at risk. He then proceeded to, I kid you not, authorize high-profile, military-style Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) sweeps in communities, workplaces, grocery stores, and near schools. He quite literally was deploying federal troops for this by the way. But he then proceeded to start sending them right out the country into dangerous conditions. And in a lot of cases this was illegal as they fast-tracked deportations by going past standard court hearings for individuals nationwide who cannot immediately prove they have lived in the U.S. for over two years. This whole operation stripped parents from their children, tore apart communities, and significantly weakened the financial stability for latino communities. Do you want to know the craziest part of this? A substantial portion of the victims of his conquest were completely legal and had been here for decades, their lives being blown up for no good reason at all. This honestly is just domestic terrorism but I don’t need to go there.
Now it’s time for the portion where we speak on Trump’s infamous character, but if you’ve been reading closely there isn’t much else to say. I’ll get the elephant out of the room right away, he was best friends with Epstein and was brought up over 38,000 times in the Epstein, enough said there. Also, a court did formally say that he raped a woman named Eugene Caroll. He has 34 felonies as well, which is a crazy count for anybody let alone a president. The cherry on top, in 1992 and 1997 he called all black people amongst more things.
At this point, I’ve given you plenty of reasons to see why Donald J. Trump being president is what my little cousin would call a big no no. Whether it was policy or personality, I shined a light on all the cracks in his “perfect” image. Now the keys are in your hands. Will you open yourself to a new political mindset and create the America the next generation deserves or will you stay stuck in the mindset you grew up in that led to the divide we have today? The choice is yours.
