Beyond The Net

Volleyball

Volleyball is more than just hitting a ball over the net, it is a fast paced sport that teaches teamwork, determination, and confidence while keeping you active and having fun. Whether you’ve never touched a volleyball before or have only watched it from the sidelines, this sport has something to offer everyone. No matter your age or skill level, volleyball is a sport that welcomes anyone. In this blog, you’ll discover why volleyball is worth trying and how it can positively impact your life.

Before I started writing, I thought about teenagers my age because they are always looking for fun sports to try. They need something that keeps them active and helps them make friends. You may already know that volleyball is a popular sport, but something you might not know is of all its benefits. Teenagers are the perfect audience because they can start playing now and enjoy it for many years. My friends at first thought that volleyball was really hard, but as they began practicing everyday, they began to like it. A lot of people nowadays think the same about it, so I think everyone should try it out even if you don’t like it, because who knows maybe you will one day. Some people think volleyball is way too difficult or that they are not athletic enough to play, but anyone can learn with practice. I want my writing to encourage you to step outside of your comfort zone and give volleyball a chance.

My passion is encouraging people to try volleyball because I believe it is one of the most enjoyable and rewarding sports anyone can play. There are so many different skills to learn, like serving, passing, setting, hitting, and blocking, so there is always something new to improve. My coach at first wanted me to become a setter, but since I was short, I didn’t feel like it was for me. Over time, I got more confident and really improved my setting skills. Volleyball is a sport where every player has an important role, which helps everyone feel included. Volleyball is a sport that challenges you to think quickly, communicate with others, and work together. There are even opportunities to play at school, in clubs, or just for fun. This makes it easy for anyone to get involved. For example, I have played volleyball all throughout middle school and plan on continuing in high school. I truly believe volleyball is a sport that everyone should experience because it is exciting, welcoming, and filled with opportunities to learn, grow, and have fun.

I am passionate about volleyball because it has become a huge part of my life. I have been playing volleyball for five years, and every season has helped me grow into a stronger athlete. Volleyball has taught me the importance of teamwork, communication, and responsibility. I have made so many connections with my coaches too. My coach Ms.Correno has helped me a lot, and really showed me what resilience truly is. I’m really grateful for her and I will remember her for the rest of my life. I have also made many really great friends through playing volleyball, and I love being part of a team that supports each other. My friends make me laugh every single practice, and there hasn’t been a practice where I didn’t laugh. Something that I have learned from volleyball is that losing or winning doesn’t matter, it’s about having fun and building relationships with people everyday. I truly believe you should try volleyball because it is exciting, fun, and creates unforgettable memories that can last a lifetime.

Volleyball is much more than just a sport, it is an opportunity to grow, challenge yourself, and create unforgettable memories. Whether you are looking to stay active, make new friends, or learn valuable skills, volleyball has something to offer for everyone. By the end of my piece, I hope that volleyball is welcoming to beginners and offers opportunities for players of all skill levels. Every great player starts as a beginner, so never be afraid to take that first step and see where volleyball can take you.
