Do you see all of your friends pursuing a sport and you wish you were right there with them? Do you want to have a hobby that you will never stop doing? I am here to convince you on why you should pursue soccer as a hobby or a sport in school. People have been kicking balls around since ancient times, but the rules of modern soccer were officially established in 19th century England. Soccer can be enjoyed at any level, from a weekend hobby to a full career goal.
Soccer is the most popular sport in the world. According to FIFA estimates, around 265 million people play soccer in the world and the only thing you need is a ball. There are different types of variation of soccer. There is indoor soccer where the ball never goes outside the field due to the walls. There is beach soccer where you play a match on sand but be careful because the ball is harder to roll on sand. Last is Futsal where you play on a hard court with a smaller heavier ball. The biggest sporting event in the world is The FIFA World Cup. FIFA reported that over 5 billion viewers tuned into the 2022 World Cup, with 1.5 billion people tuning in for the World Cup Final.
I am passionate about soccer because I feel like that is going to be the way I am going to help out my family financially. I am also a really competitive person so if someone tells me they can beat me, I will 1v1 them to see who is better. My life has enhanced because most of my friends I have right now are the friends I met at soccer teams. My parents have also made connections at my soccer practices or at games. You should pursue soccer because you stay active when you’re running for the ball, jumping for a header, and kicking the ball. You are doing all that while having fun.
When you join a soccer team you also improve your social skills when you are introducing yourself to your new teammates and communicating on the field. Another reason why you should start to play soccer is because soccer might be your future job. If you put your sweat, tears and dedication, you might start getting paid to help out a team. Soccer players salaries vary by league and region, ranging from a low paying contract for a lower-tier American pro to a high paying contract for a starter in the English League. Just remember that I was the one who convinced you in the first place. There are so many leagues and teams all over the world that are trying to find players to play for them.
Don’t let an opportunity slip like that, try soccer and if you don’t like soccer then you are losing a once in a lifetime opportunity. The other sports might not give you the same benefits as soccer because soccer can be played everywhere by anyone. Remember that soccer is the most popular sport in the world.
