Have you been looking for a new fun hobby? Are you interested or have thoughts about being a collector? If you answered yes to either of these questions, then you should try collecting action figures! Collecting action figures is a fun thing to do and you could possibly collect any character from any media like movies, TV shows, video games, books, and even comics. It’s not only fun, but it gives a feeling of nostalgia as well. It’s a fun hobby anyone can do and you could even customize your own figure!
“Isn’t this hobby for kids?”
You might be thinking, “Aren’t action figures for kids? Aren’t I too old for this hobby?” You would be wrong. Everybody can enjoy collecting action figures as long as you’re truly happy about it. It doesn’t matter what age you are or what anybody says, if you enjoy doing what you love, you shouldn’t let anyone tell you otherwise. There are many people out there who collect action figures and are way older. Why don’t they stop? It’s because they are happy with the hobby they are doing! So please don’t be ashamed about it, you will never know if somebody has the same interest as you if you’re not open about your own ideas.
“Could I make my own action figures?”
Making your own figures can take some time and effort. You could make figures out of paper, clay, objects, a 3D printer, or anything you can get creative with. It doesn’t just have to be a character from a media, you could make up your own character that comes to mind. There’s no limit to creativity and you can make as many as you desire. The best part about making your own action figures is how accomplishing it can feel. Just seeing your own artwork that you have created can be exciting!
Another thing about collecting action figures, I must warn you that it can get very pricey. But it can be worth it sometimes for your entertainment. You don’t have to spend so much money on action figures since there are many cheaper options and alternatives.
“Where should I look to buy them?”
You could simply search for the action figure you’re looking for on basic shopping websites like Amazon, Walmart, Target, and especially Ebay. Personally, my favorite brands I would recommend for you to search would be Yolopark, NECA, Super7, McFarlane, Entertainment Earth, or any merchandise store. If you come across any other website that sells action figures then try it out! It could have your favorite media or topic and it would give you many options of characters to choose from.
I personally love this hobby because I enjoy collecting characters from many different types of movies and shows that are my favorites. When I first decided to try out this hobby, I absolutely loved it. Just seeing my collection grow overtime felt rewarding, fun, and I couldn’t stop buying more of them! Trust me, when your collecting starts growing, you’ll be wanting to start collecting more. It’s okay if you didn’t find any interest in this hobby but I really encourage you to give it a try!
