I need to ask you some questions…
I need to ask you some questions…
Sixth grade. Two words that can evoke a mix of emotions: excitement, trepidation, and for some, outright dread. For me, it was a whirlwind of changes, challenges, and unexpected growth. It was a year marked by constant internal battles. The world around me seemed to be speeding up, while I felt stuck in slow motion. Friendships shifted, academic pressures mounted, and self-doubt crept in like an unwelcome guest. It felt like everyone else had figured out the middle school code, while I was still trying to decipher the instructions.
First and foremost, I want to tell you that I’m proud of you. I always think of you and how you’re doing. You are smart, outgoing, and creative. No matter how you’re doing in life, you have a purpose. Never give up and stay true to yourself.
There are a few things I’ve learned over the years that I wish I could share with you now.
Even with all of this, keep doing your best. Keep doing everything in your power to be better. You’ll never be perfect. I’ve learned to accept that. One thing you can do is always strive to be better. Remember you are enough but if you can, do more push yourself to do it.
I remember that when you were 11 and 12, you were having trouble with math. This is a really hard challenge that you have to overcome. You have all this fear built up that you would sit the whole math class not asking for help because you think that you are stupid or not good enough
Hey little me…
Hopefully you won’t feel these emotions, hopefully you’ll understand what I tell you and you’ll be able to reflect and grow on it.
Now that I’m older, I see that school wasn’t just about studying and grades. It was about becoming a stronger person, too.
It’s a journey to better your mental health and your self-confidence. It takes time. Don’t give up easily.
